The Department of Defense has taken a significant step toward implementing CMMC by publishing the 32 CFR Part 170 rule in the Federal Register. This rule defines CMMC and will officially go live on December 15, 2024. Additionally, the 48 CFR rule, which will update the DFARS to activate CMMC in contract solicitations, is expected to be finalized by early 2025.
